God's Awesome Timing - Miguel and his Madre

I have to tell you that today's experience will be hard to beat! Guys, get your box of kleenex ready for this awesome God story...... I was not assigned to go to VBS today as I originally thought. I installed styrofoam insulation all day, which was fun. After lunch, a team leader asked me and my teammate, Courtney, if we wanted to go into the community on a prayer walk. I was thrilled. As we were leaving Hannah's home, Tony Kay the project leader asked to go to VBS as they were loading the bus. She wanted us to go with her into the community and invite kids, help with crowd control, etc. Of course, I said yes. As we arrived, we went into the community with MJ our translator. A little old lady walked up and began talking to us. MJ had trouble figuring out exactly what she was saying. She wanted help for her son. He is sick, or so we thought. She kept asking, over and over, for us to come to her home. We accepted her invitation and went on our walk. As we arrived at her home, she invited us in. She was very distraught and upset but I wasn't clear on what her needs were. As we went in she walked into a corner room and brought out her son. He has special needs! I instantly began to cry my eyes out. He is 16 years old, but has the mind of about a 8 or 9 year old at best. I was able to minister to the sweet lady. I shared with her Rachel's story and reminded her that God will provide the stregnth she needs to be his mother. She cried, he cried, the rest of the group cried. I prayed with her and reminded her that when we are in heaven how perfect her son and my sweet Rachel will be. It was such an awesome moment that I can't quite put it into words to express God's perfect timing in that he pulled me from my regularly scheduled job to be there for that specific woman. Isn't he amazing! I am forever changed. I can't wait to see how my God will top that! :)

Stewart Brown, I was so excited to see your message! It made my day! Thank you for taking time to think of me and pray for me! I hope you are enjoying your summer.

I love reading all of your posts daily and can't wait to get back each night to share my stories with you all. I wish you could all be here.

Girls, mommy loves you and misses you so much. Keep praying for these children!

In Christ,

Jessica

Mrs. Stout,

That was so sweet that you meet that boy. I know you were a big help to his mom. God used you in a special way. God put you right there in Peru so you could be a blessing in their life! I cant wait to read more stories. I hope you have a safe trip back. I can't wait to see you when school starts back.

Jessica-
Talk about confirmation! And talk about needing Klennex! You are such an inspiration to me! You will never know how much you have ministered to me through your blogs.

You know, we always hear that we go through different struggles so that we can help others in the future. What confirmation you received today! You were able to minister to that lady in a way no other could. Your experience with RAchel and Rachel herself has minsitered to a family half way around the world. Praise the Lord!

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen
1 Tim. 1:17

Love ya

Jessica,

You did it again, got me crying! It is truly amazing what a God we serve. Brian and I originally signed up to come down with Jason's group, but for some reason God closed the door. I truly believe that it was so I could be humbled from afar and from your personal experience. You are a very special lady to be able to face those situations and share from the bottom of your heart. Rachel is a very luck little girl to have such loving parents like you and Brad.

It will be exciting to see what God has in store for you next.

I will continue to pray for you and the whole team.

PS. You may be wondering exactly who I am....I am Tonya's cousin that has came to GP several times.

HOW COOL IS OUR GOD!!!!!!!
I would have never thought how God could use RACHEL STOUT to minister to someone in another country. I felt the Holy Spirit before you guys left about your individual spiritual gifts and using them, but I never saw this one coming. WOW this experience is awesome, how God can use anybody or anything for his Glory. Thanks for sharing!
