Hugs and kisses need no translation!

Today was busy and jam packed! We began early with worship on the beach! Sooo cool! "Amazing love, how can it be..that you my king would die for me. Amazing love, I know its true...its my joy to honor you." It was so precious to stand in front of a small part of God's beautiful creation and give him glory and praise. We began early at the construction site. We broke up into groups. I was so impressed with everyone on our team. From digging trenches (GO JULIE, GIRL POWER!) to wiring (Brad and Dean got to use their cable skills) to organizing and supply inventory. Everyone worked so hard! I certainly did not see any of our team sitting around doing nothing! I had the opportunity to go through stored items to find clothing for 2 new orphans at the Hogar de Ninos. I was able to fill one garbage bag for each child that this morning couldn't change from the only garments they owned, their pjs. Oh, how I am spoiled and selfish! I got to take coloring books and prizes to 3 sick children at the orphanage. I also had to organize and plan VBS for 150 kids. It was a challenge and I have to admit, I was SCARED! I had no idea what to expect. Silvia, a full time Child Reach staff member guided me and it went great. As we pulled our bus into the community, children began running. They multiplied from about 40-50 to over 150 and we had to tell children "No Mas" when we were finished with give away items. It was crazy. They were so happy with the coloring books and a small ziplock bag filled with 2 pieces of candy, 1 pencil, 1 tiny eraser, and 1 bouncy ball. It was awesome to see how loving and joyful these children are, who by our standards have nothing. This experience has given me such a new perspective as a Christian, person, and mom. We are so truly blessed. I am excited each day to log on and see your posts. Your comments are so encouraging. Keep them coming! It is good to hear from my family, love you guys. It is also good to hear from my work family, I am so blessed that God placed me at 2 spirit filled schools. Thank you all for your support. As for my Grace Place family, I can't tell you what it means to hear that you are loving on my girls while we are away! Thank you for that! I love you all, will write more tomorrow! I will try to post more pics tomorrow. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me tomorrow!
Thanks for your prayers, we continue to feel them throughout our busy day.
Jess

Jessica,

Oh my goodness. I don't think that I can read many of your blog without a box of kleenex beside me. I feel like I am right there with you on that trip. It must be very humbling to see those kids get so excited over the things that we take for granite on a daily bases. Thank you so much for sharing from your heart.

I will continue to pray for you all daily.

Jessica,
It is amazing that a hug, kiss or smile say so much without a word being said. I think that each time you are hugged there, you are receiving a hug from God. I know He is so pleased with all of you. I also believe that as much fun as you are having and that we are having sharing this experience with you, God is having fun too. Can't you just hear Him say, "Look at her, or look at him...that is my child, those are my Children!"

keeping all of you in my prayers!

love...mary ann
